Every industry has events to raise awareness; financial planning is no different. The FPA (Financial Planning Association), hosts events across the country during Financial Planning Days where the public can meet, for free, with a financial planner who is providing their services pro-bono for the event.
Seattle’s Financial Planning Day is October 23, a Saturday, from 10am – 4pm.
No one is going to try to sell you anything; this is a community event intended to raise awareness regarding the value that a Financial Planner provides.
The Financial Planners who are volunteering their time for this are all CFP (r) certificants, so you will be able to get some pretty good advice, on a one – to – one basis, that, any other day, is not free.
These events only happen once a year and I can’t imagine how it could not be of value to anyone who would have some questions they want answered about their finances.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
(Disclosure: I am a Fee-Only Financial Planner and FPA member. Here is my website.)
